The Wedding Music that you choose for your Wedding Ceremony should be personal to you and mean something. What you want to walk down the aisle to and walk out married to depends on the type of ceremony you have chosen and where it is taking place.

Civil Ceremony

If you are opting for a Civil Ceremony, go for a classical track or a love song that means something to you. Try to fit the style of music to the theme or type of wedding you are having. Double check with the Registrar that they approve of your music choices. You may need to provide your own CD for the ceremony, check with the Registrar about the process. I would suggest that you purchase a classical CD or listen to a good selection before making your final choices.

Church & Hymns

If you are getting married in Church, you can go with the traditional 'Here comes the bride' or talk to your organist about other options. Its best to check with the Vicar or person performing the ceremony that they are happy with your choices, many will be able to guide you to making informed choices - remember they've probably seen it all hundreds of times!

The same applies when choosing hymns. Go with something you've heard of, as the likely hood is that the more well known the hymn is the more people you have invited will know it too. I would suggest listening to popular hymns to get some idea of what you like. A good investment is a CD of Wedding Hymns

Once you have found a few you like - suggest them to your vicar and organist so they can check the words are in the hymn book. Check with your Vicar about copyright if you want to copy them into your order of service.

Check out the NewlyWeds-Uk Order of Service Template to see where Hymns can be placed. You can have as many Hymns as you like but I would suggest 2 or 3.

Readings :

As part of your Civil Ceremony or Church Wedding you might like to include some readings or poems. A book where you can review them and read them out load might be the best option. Choose a book that covers both readings and poems such as Wedding Readings, Poems and Vows (Confetti)
