What Colours should you choose for your Wedding?

Choosing the colours for your Wedding can be a very important decision. Particularly as you base most of the decisions for the big day on them, everything from the colour of the bridesmaids dresses to the Wedding flowers, its very important to get it right the first time!

Firstly consider the colours you like. If you love Orange put it on the list, equally though, if you hate Orange cross it off. Come up with your top 5 or 6 colours so you have some options to consider.

The next job is to consider of these colours do actually suit you. There is really no point in having a colour which does not compliment you. So have a look at a good colour adviser book, so you can match your skin tone, eye colour and hair colour to colours in order to look your best!

Remember to have a look at the Reception Venue decoration - it helps to be able to match colours to make sure that they compliment each other.

Your next task, prior to picking your Wedding colours is to go dress shopping. If your dress has beading or detail on it in a certain colour it might be that you want to use that colour or at least choose colours that match it.

Also consider what the groom will be wearing, whilst most men have no objections to wearing a red tie because that is the Wedding colour. Others will completely object to wearing a pink tie, so it might be worth making a joint decision with your Husband to be.

I have found that having two colours seems to work best (e.g) Lilac and Silver, Cream and Red etc. its means that you can spread the colours out then rather than there being too much of any one colour. It also gives you more choice in picking your Wedding cake, Wedding flowers and all the other areas of your Wedding.

Its only once you have chosen the colours that you should begin to finalise the Wedding floers and taking your bridesmaids out to buy their dresses.
