I was amused to read today about the wedding ceremony in Brazil that turned into a bit of a dog's dinner!

The ceremony was for two Yorkshire terriers. The Groom is only two and the Bride is 5 years old and she is about to come into season - so it was a hastily planned nuptial. And though the event may not be a demonstration of the Bride and Groom's commitment, it certainly demanded some co-operation from their owners as the bill came to almost £6,000. The price included the bride's custom-made £270 wedding dress and the groom's elegant tuxedo, both of which risked being ruined by the wedding breakfast feast - a cake specially made of dog food.

Surrounded by a guest list of 200 dogs and their people, the bride Bruna and her well groomed Groom Lui barked their vows before planting their paws on the official registry documents. Cameras were popping and the organisers got some additional bookings because the day was such a success.

The merrymaking continued into the night, but if they are feeling a little bit dog-rough today they can always try 'hair of the dog!'.
