Hi Rebecca
Marriage in England is considered valid by our courts, whatever the parties' nationality. However, there is a risk that it will not be valid under the law of the foreign country concerned. This could cause you a problem if you wanted to move back to your partner's homeland later.

You might need a letter from the embassy of that country to say that your marriage would be recognised. It would be advisable to chat to your local diocesan registrar. Your local Vicar can put you in touch with him or her.

I do hope all works out well for you. After 4 years you have demonstrated your commitment to each other.
Every blessing

Jan
