I'm having the weekend away from NewlyWeds-UK towers as I'm off to a gorgeous village church in the Lake District to marry our bride-to-be blogger Mrs Cardigan. Or to be more precise - I'm officiating at her wedding - they'll be marrying each other. It'll be a simple, cosy wedding ceremony with close family and friends. I'm really excited and feel very honoured that they've asked me and we'll let you know how it went when we get back next week. Please pray for sunshine though we're all very soppy so it'll probably be tissues all round and we'll get wet anyway.
I love doing weddings, it's my favourite thing (alongside dogs and chocolate and my better half of course). Hopefully this wedding ceremony will go without a hitch though it might not be as lively as weddings I've been involved in previously (see my blog entry Smile and Enjoy the Day). You can hear me relate this story on Radio 4's You & Yours next week on either Monday or Tuesday.
I'm also looking forward to seeing the hills. If you know the M6 north there is a magical moment around Westmorland when you drive round a bend and a whole range of hills surround you. It always takes my breath away and I have to tell God how brilliant and clever he is to have designed the landscape.
Some of my favourite Bible verses are found in The Psalms and Psalm 121 says "I will lift up my eyes to the hills - from where will my help come?" It then goes on to give the answer and its a big wow read. Why not give it a try?
Have a blessed weekend. I will :-)
love
Jan
