According to a quote on my 2008 Family Organiser Calender, the four most important words in any marriage are "I'll do the dishes".
If you have a dishwasher that's clearly not too difficult. However, according to a survey in a Californian University, men who help with the chores are more likely to be 'rewarded' with a more pro-active sex life.
I always wonder how much people get paid to organise surveys and collect data that anyone with an ounce of common sense could work out in the time it takes to mop the kitchen floor!
Women still reportedly do 75% of the household chores, whether they are working or not. But if a guy takes the trouble to muck in and do his share of the housework then his wife will obviously be less tired at the end of the day and more likely to respond to - or even initiate - the romance.
Let me suggest another four words too (and I don't mean "Pass the Remote Control"!)
Taking your eyes off the TV for once will help your case and a spot of old fashioned courting doesn't go amiss either. And don't forget that, for women especially, romance starts way before bedtime so how about saying "You look gorgeous tonight" - when you've finised stacking the dishwasher that is...
