That was the Week that was....

I bet no-one else reading this website is old enough to remember the TV programme with the title above...it was a roundup of all the happenings in the week. Anyway it has been an amazing week in the Church of England and I'm delighted to be part of it! The long awaited Marriage Measure became law on October 1st and we've been celebrating. Hopefully you'll think it's a cause for celebration too as you now have much more freedom in your choice of venue for a church wedding.Hurray!

We think it is so exciting that it's our joy to spread the news as far and wide as possible. Earlier this week the Bishop of Reading invited prospective wedding couples in his area to breakfast and discussion time, Local Vicars have been summoned to briefings so that they are aware that they can now welcome many more people who want to marry in their churches, and the media have given us lots of coverage for the story as it is such good news for everyone.

The media campaign included the launch of a gorgeous new website. The site includes a Service Planner which gives you a sample printout with your names dropped into it - and heaps of good advice. Take a look http://www.yourchurchwedding.org/
