Sadly I went to a funeral today - Karen was a lovely member of my Community Choir who loved to sing. She had been looking forward to her own daughter's wedding next year and they'd looked at dresses already. But a heart attack two days before Christmas devastated the family.
The Baptist minister talked of her love of music, her work (in a residential home) which was indeed a vocation and he described her as a person who loved and was loved. Very true. She'd had a long and happy marriage.
He then quoted G.K Chesterton and I felt this was worth sharing with you, and I can't think of a better way to express it so I'll leave you with this thought...“The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.”
