Tis the season for love, apparently. There is frogspawn in the pond, birdsong in the air and March Hares are mad for it. But then they nearly always are...According to Wikipedia the Hare mating season lasts for most of the year and 'early in the season, unreceptive females often use their forelegs to repel overenthusiastic males. It used to be incorrectly believed that these bouts were between males fighting for breeding supremacy'. What can one say to that?
Anyway - back to romance. OK we've passed Feb 14th - and what a romantic time that was. The organisers of the London Tower Bridge Valentine event reported that 10 people proposed that night at their big bash and we keep hearing of other romantic happenings around the globe.
My friend's daughter was whisked off to Paris by her boyfriend who was confident enough to buy the ring himself. It was a gorgeous antique French ring and just the ticket as she is recovering from emergency surgery after a life threatening illness. Sadly the surgery means that she can't have children but he assures her that their life together will simply be a different sort of adventure than the one they had previously envisaged. Top bloke!
We love to hear stories of romantic proposals - so why not send yours in? All entries will be put in a hat and the first one drawn out will get a bag of As in Eden organic products. And don't forget to enter the Love is...competition to win a book. I've ordered 2 so far - they are gorgeous.
