To Hire or to Buy - what's the answer?

It has been a very busy few weeks, with brides visiting us to find the dress of their dreams, and then making the decision to buy or to hire. It sounds an easy choice - do you want to keep your dress after you are married, or not. If you do want to keep it, buying is the only answer - but what if you aren't sure?

If you do want to keep it, then consider the extra costs involved, like having it cleaned (you really need to have it cleaned as soon as possible after the wedding). Also, where will you store it - if the answer is in a box in the attic, then do you really want to hang on to it.

Savvy Cinderella has the unique option of hiring your dress - and then, if you do decide you want to keep it, you can buy it immediately after your wedding. We believe that every bride should get the same service, whether they buy or hire their wedding dress, and have the same approach to all our clients - we want your day to be special, and we want you to enjoy choosing your dress.

We have had a wonderful mix of brides to be this past month. Some have come, hot from the proposal and we are first in line after the venue is booked. This usually gives us 4 -6 weeks to find the dress, find the accessories if we haven't got them here already, and make any alterations. These brides tend to be more relaxed, especially where their bridesmaids are concerned. Usually they are so high with the adrenaline rush, they turn into superhumans, and could organise the local elections in their down time. Other brides have a couple of months for planning, which is perfect for all concerned, and others have all the time in the world, because they haven't set a date yet - or as in a recent case, our bride to be hasn't found a boyfriend yet. (You have to admire her optimism)

Whatever your circumstances, we are here to help. If you choose to buy, and change your mind in a few months time, we can help you find a new bride to turn your dream dress into their dream dress.

One tip I would say, is that if you want a keepsake, keep the veil - it takes up hardly any room, and a veil can capture all the emotions of the day. (and you can wear it round the house - and easily whip it off when the doorbell rings!
