Can I have a wedding blessing after my civil ceremony?

Chairs at the altar

Dear Resident Reverend,

My fiance and I live in Bristol and are planning to get married this summer at a venue licensed for civil ceremonies in Cheltenham. I had hoped that we would be able to have a wedding blessing or 'service of prayer and dedication' immediately after the civil ceremony (at the same venue), but don't know if this is going to be possible as the venue is not a church. read more »

How can we apply for a special licence?

rings_hands_bouquet_bw.jpg

Dear Resident Reverend,

My partner and I moved to New Zealand 4 years ago and are planning to come home to Bristol to get married in June. We want to be married in church and as we are not on the electoral role for the church near my parents (or any church now) how can I go about applying for a special licence to get married in that church please?

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Sara Buck.

I've always wanted to get Married in this Church but I'm not sure that I can

Chairs at the Alter

Dear Reverend,

My Finance and I are hoping to get married next August in St. Michaels Church but I'm not sure if we will be allowed, my mum and dad live just 5 minutes walk from this Church but i now live with my Fiance which is about a 20 minute walk to this church so we are not in that parish.

I always thought that as my Mum and Dad lived so close that we would be able to marry in their their parish, there is Church close to where i live now but i always had my heart set on getting married in the church my parents got married in. read more »
