Can we get married in my fiance's parents' parish?
Dear Resident Reverend,
My fiance (English) and I (American) have just returned from living abroad for the past few years and are planning our wedding in England. While we are living in London, we would like to get married in the church in the town where he grew up. Given the situation (it's not our parish -as we're in London- and it's not practical for us to start attending this church -as it's around 2 hrs away from where we live), I am trying to ascertain if we can have a church wedding at this church. read more »

Can we still get married in the Uk?
Dear Reverend,
I'm finding it really hard to find out more Information about my situation.
Which is: My Fiance and I are both from England and both Baptist. We moved to Australia just over a year ago but are wanting to get married in the Uk in april 09. We both agree we would like a church ceremony if possible in Lynmouth.
We do visit our local Baptist church in Australia.
So we are just hoping you could shed some light on our situation?
Thank you
Regards Robert and Stephanie

German Register office and English Church Wedding?
Dear Reverend,
Me and my boyfriend would like to marry in a church in September 2008 in
England.
I am German and he is British. Last week he started his job in Germany so that we can live together. In Germany the traditional weddings have a part at a local registry office and a second part in the church. At the Registry Office the couple sign the official papers and are afterwards legally married. In the church there is a ceremony and the vicar gives the blessing/vow so that the partners are married in front of God. read more »

Expats getting married in Manchester?
Hello Reverend.
My partner and I are both English but have been living in Sydney for 6 years so do not live in any English parish. I was a churchgoer in England in both Liverpool and Manchester.
We would like to get married in Manchester close to where I used to live, but currently have no connection there other than I still have a flat there (my parents are in Liverpool and his are in London).
From everything I have read it looks like we would not be able to be married anywhere in England, except possibly in my parents' parish. Is this right? read more »
