Dear Reverend,
My fiance and I plan to marry aboard (private ceremony) and then hold a traditional wedding ceremony or 'church blessing' in the UK for friends and family. What are the rules/regulations according to the church of england regarding me walking down the aisle? Can I not walk down by myself and meet my 'husband' at the alter?

Many Thanks,
Ericag

Hi Ericag
The recommendation in the church handbook is for the couple to enter together with no great ceremonial entrance. But I think these are flexible sugestions rather than hard & fast rules - though it wouldn't really be appropriate to be given away if you are already married if you see what I mean.

Have a chat with your local vicar and see what you can arrange that suits everyone.
warm regards
jan
