Can a RC marry their husband to be who is Church of Scotland in a Church of England Church (and not their own parish church)? She is keen to have part of the ceremony conducted by a catholic priest - can you let me have any advice on this? Thank you in advance.

Hi Simon

As far as the CofE is concerned we don't mind if you are RC or Church of Scotland - you can marry in your local parish church.

If you want to marry somewhere else you need to be resident in the parish for 15 days or get yourself on the electoral roll by attending church regularly. You'll need to chat with the Vicar to find out their understanding of regularly. Also talk to the Vicar to ask permission for the Catholic priest to take part in the service but all things are possible - just start the conversation asap

Warm regards

Jan
