St John the Baptist church vs. All Saints CofE Church?

My fiancee lives in Weston Super Mare (Local church is a baptist) and I live in Andover (local church All Saints CofE).

When it comes to having the banns read does he have to have them in a different church to the Baptist one? As mine will be read in a Church of England Church?

Many thanks

Victoria

Hi Victoria
Even though your fiancee's local church is a Baptist church he will live in a Church of England parish - the whole of the country is divided up into parishes. So yes the Banns will need to be read in his parish church. His local Vicar will then give him a form to confirm that Banns have been read and no objections were raised.

That form then needs to be given to the Vicar in YOUR local parish, or whoever is officiating at your wedding.

warmest regards
jan
