Dear Resident Reverend,

Me and my fiance has subsequently being together for over 5 years - At the present moment my fiance is 6 months in her pregnancy(very excited)and we really both hope we could have a small religious wedding in the Church Of England. However,my fiance is British and i'm from Jamaica where in which my residential status is in consideration via home office. Can we still marry in the Church of England?

Hi Gamal
congratulations on the imminent birth of the baby.
Yes you can marry in the Church of England. Go and have a chat with the Vicar of your local parish church. He or she will ascertain all the facts and may suggest that you go and see the diocesan registrar to apply for a Common licence. This takes time so you'll need to move pretty quickly if you want to marry before the baby is born
warm regards
Jan
