Marriage Visa and Are CoE Marriages recognized in USA?

HI Reverend,

I'm a U.S. citizen I'll be coming over to the U.K. in December. I want to get married with my fiance in one of your churches. My fiance is a British citizen.

What I want to know is would I need a marriage visa or marriage entry clearance to get married in your church? I know I can legally come to the U.K. without a visa as a visitor anytime. Also I don't plan to stay in the U.K. or want residency. I just want to get married and leave. So would I still need a marriage visa?
And one last question, would my country (U.S.A.) recognize this marriage if I do get married in a CoE?
After we get married my fiance and I would like to live in the U.S.

Thank you so much for answering my questions! I tried calling/contacting the British Consulate and the US Immigration Services, but none of them answered my question. I want to Thank you again, and I really appreciate you for answering my questions. I hope you have a nice day!

Hi Donna You will be able to

Hi Donna
You will be able to marry in England on the basis of your partner's residency status - though you will need to be able to provide proof that you are not already married.

Yes your marriage will be accepted as legal in the USA.

Hope this helps you concerning the marriage itself - but you will need to take up the question of your partner living in the US afterwards with the appropriate agencies.

kind regards
