My partner and i are planning on getting married August next year. We would like to marry in a small (very small, about 5 houses!) village church in a place called Didlington. My partners grandparents have lived there all their lives and he spent alot of his childhood there. We have been told by the 'Head family' of the village this is fine. The village does not have a vicar so we would have to find one to preform the ceremony. This church no longer holds services on regular basis except for funerals of parsh members etc. Im unsure with how we stand on things like banns being read and if a vicar will come to preform ceremony. Any help would be gratfully received!

Hi Andrea
I'm assuming you mean St Michael's at Didlington
I contacted the Norwich diocese for you and they gave me the contact details for the Vicar as Rev David Hanwell (david.hanwell@btopenworld.com) or telephone 01366 328856
You would be eligible under the new Marriage Measure to get married there through the grandparent's link.
Hope you get on OK
Kind regards
