Marriage options

Hi,

My Fiancée and I are looking to get married in September. I'm Catholic and my partner is Baptist.

We both live in London and would like to get married near my Fiancée's parents but not in their parish.

Is it still possible to get married under a common license if we do not have any historical link to the particular church we are looking at? We really both want a church wedding, the venue is beutiful and set in a place that combines our love of the outdoors and the water.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul

Sadly not all the restrictions were lifted under the new marriage measure. The rules are set by parliament and not by the church, by the way.

I'm not sure how far away this church is for you but you can take the option of attending regularly and going on the church electoral roll. You've just about got time to do this as it takes 6 months. If you approach the Vicar they will discuss the option with you.

Hope you can arrange this - but get your skates on as time is short!
Kind regards
