Dear Resident Reverend,
I am a little confused about the printed order of service as we can't quite seem to work out what we would need to get printed.
Most articles I've read suggest that you should print only the titles (The Entrance, The Welcome etc) and the Hymns, as opposed to printing everything which will be said.
I'm just wondering how the guests would therefore know when to sit and stand, when they are required to say something and what they should be saying.
We would like to use the traditional version of the Lords Prayer, but are worried that if this is not printed, it may sound confused as people could be using different versions.
Many Thanks,
Iona

Hi Iona
There are no rules and regulations about this so you can print what you like but do make sure that you have gone over the service with the Vicar first. Some MInisters change the order of things slightly (I know I do) and that might confuse your guests.
The Vicar would probably be happy to tell people when to sit, stand etc. as we are used to doing that in standard services. I agree that the traditional version of the Lord's Prayer is more inclusive for people who know it by heart.
It might be good (as James suggests) to go to see the VIcar with a draft service printed so you can discuss it from a point of prior knowledge.
Have a fab day
