Marriage Blessing in private?

Hi there,

I have been married 18 years and am due to be celebrating a significant birthday soon for which a party is arranged.

I would really like to use this opportunity to have my marriage blessed in church as we were married in a registry office (not really my first choice). My husband is not keen to renew our vows as he doesnt want a big event that will draw attention to himself.

Would it be possible for our marriage to be blessed in church just the two of us and the vicar? I want to make it a private affair that we can do together without fuss.

Thanks

Grace

Hi Grace
Yes of course this is perfectly fine. A wedding requires witnesses in order for it to be legal - but you can just be with the Vicar (or any Christian friend for that matter) for your service of blessing.

Have a lovely day and enjoy your significant birthday as well :-)

Kind regards
