What is the process to get married in a Church?

My fiance and I are planning to marry in a church, and we do not know the process. He is Church of England and I am Catholic Will we still be able to marry in a church?

Thank you for answering our question.

Getting married in Church

Hi
Yes you can get married in church. The fact that you are a Catholic is not a problem in the Church of England ( we consider everyone who lives in our parish to be a parishioner whether they attend our church or not.)

You don't mention any previous marriages so I'm assuming you are both single - in which case the local Vicar is obliged to conduct the service for you as it is part of the pastoral care of parishioners.

You just need to go and see the local Vicar to organise your date and they will talk you through the process. They may well have a booklet or invite you to a marriage prep session.

Take a look at the website www.yourchurchwedding.org which is a new website from the Church of England.

Hope this helps
