Can an Asylum seeker get married to a Canadian here in UK?

I am an asylum seeker here in the UK and my fiancée is Canadian who lives and works in Canada.

She usually visits me here in the UK however she plans to come back in so we can get married in the Church of England since both of us are Christians. How possible can this be considering our immigration restrictions? We plan afterwards to live in Canada and not the UK.
I wait to hear from you. Cheers!

Hi Bedos
Some Church of England Vicars are a bit nervous of marrying people in complicated situations as there is always a concern that people are marrying to try and influence their case for residency.

Clearly this is not the case with you and it may be possible (depending on your length of stay so far in the UK) for you to marry by Special Licence. You'll need to visit your local Vicar and explain your situation more fully.

Sorry not to be more helpful but it's difficult to gather the relevant facts in such a short discussion.

Kind Regards
Jan
