Getting married at a church outside our parish

Hi i wonder if you can help us?
We have set our hearts on getting married in a church a mile & a half away fron where we live but have been told that this is not possible as we come under another parish, and as the church does not have regular services it is not possible for us to attend and at the moment the church has no vicar would it be possible to arrange for our local vicar to do the service at the other church?,
thanks Terrie-Marie.

Hi Terrie-Marie
It doesn't sound very hopeful I'm afraid. You don't say when the wedding is to be so its possible that a new Vicar will be installed at the church (or it'll become linked to another church) in which case you can attend for 6 months. This will give you the eligibility to marry there.
Have a chat with your Vicar to see if he or she knows what the plans are for the church in question.
Sorry not to be more helpful but I'm working in the dark in this instance
kind regards
Jan
