Interfaith Church Blessing

Dear Resident Reverend, I am a Maltese Roman Catholic, divorced, and plan to marry my Iraqi fiance, who is a non practising muslim, also divorced (we are both middle aged). As God is still an important part of my life I would love to have a Church blessing after a civil ceremony. This is inexistent in the Catholic Church - the Church of England is present here in Malta and I would like to know if as we are BOTH not Church of England whether I could ask for this blessing ? Thank you very much for answering this.

Hi Doris
Yes you can ask and a written service does exist for this purpose. It assumes that you have a faith in God and are wanting to live a Christian life together.

I'm not sure about Malta, but certainly in England the whole country is split into parishes and we consider every resident to be a parishioner. So do go and see the Vicar and hopefully you'll receive a warm welcome and affirmation

Kind Regards
Jan
