Legal wedding for Non British Citizen to marry English Citizen.

My fiance is a Native American, living in Oklahoma, we have been with eachother for a long time and we want to get married. I want to marry in a Castle, but he thinks we have to marry in a church because he is not a British citizen. Is there a way around this that we can marry in a Castle, but be able to have the same legal rules with the same victar from a church? or would our situation force us to marry in a Church?

Hi Tracy
There are no rules to say that you have to marry in church simply because your fiance is American. If you marry in a castle then a Registrar will conduct the ceremony

Vicars can only conduct weddings in church buildings but you can marry wherever you like. You'll need to contact the registrar early to check what paperwork is needed.

Kind regards
Jan
