We are having a church wedding and have invited the Vicar and his wife to the Wedding breakfast and evening celebration - they have accepted.
We are now working on the seating plan and currently plan to seat them with a table of close family friends. is this acceptable? My mother in law to be has said that iit is etiquette to seat the Vicar at the top table but I don't want to separate him from his wife and we are also limited for space on the top table.
I just want to check what is acceptable and do we need to alter our plans?

Hi Katie
How very kind of you to invite the Vicar and his wife to your celebrations.
I've never heard of anyone sitting at the top table and I'm guessing they'll prefer to sit together among friends. I'm sure you won't offend anyone at all and that they'll be delighted with your invitation.
Have a wonderful day
Warm regards
Jan
