Writing the Speech - Groom, Best Man and Father of the Bride

The order in which you present the speeches is Father of the Bride, Groom then the Best Man. Sometimes, other people like to speak too, keep it to a minimum, you don't need 3 hours of speeches - and if the Bride want to make a speech, let her .... she is the Bride! She should speak either before or after the Groom depending on what her preference is. read more »

Deciding what to wear to any Wedding can be a tricky task, but when you're the Mother of the Groom, it is very important to get 'the look' right!

Firstly, you don't want to upstage the Bride. You might have known the Groom for a lot longer than the Bride has but its their big day - not yours or the Mother of the Brides.

Secondly, think colours. We all have colours that suit our hair and skin colour, but I would suggest that you avoid cream, white, Ivory - all those traditional Bridal colours. read more »

Getting married is a costly business. You have been very sensible in determining your budget before planning the big day.

The cost of any Wedding really depends on the numbers you want to invite.

I would suggest that you opt for a small but intimate Wedding. Your Church will charge to get married there but if you just have the basic options you can keep the cost down. Alternatively you might like to opt for a Register Office instead? read more »
