  • We have a family friend who is a vicar, he blessed my mothers new ring after
she had to have the original removed and did my mothers funeral service last
year. It would mean alot to my partner and I if he did our wedding service.
The problem is he lives a 100miles from us and this would cost us a fortune
to get everyone to him. Would he be able to wed us at our local church?

  • Dear Resident Rev
have two friends who are planning to have a wedding blessing to celebrate ten years of marriage. It's taking place in a church. They aren't sure how the blessing differs from a marriage and the etiquette involved. For example is there a role for her adult son, should she have a bouquet or attendants. She would be really grateful if you could help find out about it.
    Thank You,
    Kathleen

    Hi Kathleen

  • Hi there, i am getting married on August 28th and i was planning on paying my church fees with a cheque, can you please let me know if this is possible and who i should make it payable to.
    Thanks
    Zoe

    Hi Zoe
Please check with your Vicar about this - but usually they prefer cash as it has to go to lots of individuals, Certainly the organist and verger are paid in cash. If you have other musicians, bellringers etc the same would apply.

  • Congratulations from all at Fsh Media and Sailfin to our very own Resident Reverend Jan Harney who was featured in the latest issue of the Wedding Guide.

Jan talks about how it's never been easier to get married in a church... for more information have a look at the attached file below, or ask Jan via our ask a question section.

  • Having been assured by the Observer that 'Camilla Morton knows everything. Everything' I decided to dip into her 'Year in High Heels' manual to see if there is any advice about weddings. Naturally there it all was under July....

Those who enjoyed 'How to walk in high heels' will be glad to know that Camilla waxes lyrical on the subject of 'How to get a ring on your finger' and 'how to get hitched'. She then goes into great detail about Setting the budget (but beware - her must-haves exceed £25,000) and lots of helpful information about orders of service, wedding lists etc
