Hi the can someone help us, myself and my fiancee are childhood sweethearts,only he moved away with his family at secondary school age,as normal life went on, we both got married(twice and both got divorced twice) however 2 and a half years ago we found each other again and have been together ever since, we have never had a cross word or a row since we both live in the same parish, today we had a chat with our local vicar about a church wedding and he says he cannot do it, there was never adultery on our previous marriages it was a case of love lost, we are totally devastated as we longed for a church wedding, we do not want a blessing, we are longing for a proper church wedding can anyone help us where do we stand, julie and tom

However on approaching the local vicar he informed us that he views a blessing in the same way as a marriage ceremony and therefore we would have to go through the same process and he would have to apply for the Bishop's permission before he makes his decision. Is this the normal procedure? Our venue were a little surprised as the previous vicar had conducted numerous blessings without going through this procedure and other couples we know who have done a similar thing have also found it easier. I am just really concerned that we will end up with no religious element whatsoever. :(
Shades of purple is perfect color however if your bridesmaid are not equal in height, the shorter ones will be noticeable.
