Before learning about watches you should be familiar with some of the terminology. The word horology has two meanings; it is the study or science of measuring time or the art of making clocks, watches, and devices for telling time.
Hi my Fiance and I are getting married next April and would like our friend (who has recently became an 'Ordained Reverend') to marry us. He isn't 'connected' to his own Church yet and what we're wondering is if he would be able to marry us at my partners parish church...ie What is the protocol and possibility of the usual vicar allowing this?..
I would have posted this as a new thread / topic but despite being an 'internet marketing professional' I couldn't figure out how to do so on this site! Is it even possible?
Anyway my question is kind of similar... I would really appreciate anybody’s help with our dilemma!
We are both Catholics and both from Coventry having met at school. 13 years on and we are at last getting married!
Clearly we've lived together and done things that officially should have waited until marriage but all in all we've been good! ;-) Planning to marry next year and start a family which we want to bring up in the catholic faith.
We have some particular requirements which are making a choice of a reception venue tricky to say the least but we have a shortlist of 3 lovely venues. However as we are looking for a barn conversion / stately home style venue we are struggling to find a catholic church close enough to transport our 130 (ish) guests to and from quickly and easily.
However... all of the 3 venues have nearby c of e churches which are beautiful. We would like to see if it is possible to have a catholic ceremony in one of these churches – we can even bring our own priest! (My uncle) I understand that we need a letter of dispensation but not sure who we would ask for this as our family parish back in Coventry has a new priest since we moved to Oxford 6 or 7 years ago and we do not know the priest at our current parish well.
Dates are running out at the venues we like and we are not sure what to do – be grateful if anybody has any experience in a similar situation or knows the rules and regs.
Our other option is to get married in our local Parish but this really doesn't give us any option on the reception venue. I know that shouldn't be the most important thing about a wedding but in reality it is for a lot of people!
I have a similar question... would have posted a new topic but despite being 'an internet marketing professional' I was unable to figure out how to do so on this site! Is it even possible?
Would appreciate anybody’s help with our dilemma below...
