The planning stage of your wedding is an exciting time, spending a small fortune on wedding magazines, and trying to source blue champagne, to match that 'must have' blue cake; all perfectly natural requests for the planning bride!!! However, you may have also realised that all the decision making can be overwhelming, not to mention time consuming.

It's been a busy few weeks but I've managed to turn a big dream into a wonderful reality and I've also found the perfect place for a honeymoon - especially if you like vintage cars and antiques.

Ahhh .... so your little girl has finally grown up and is going to be a Bride. Its a difficult time, you want the best for her and make sure shes happy, but you still remember her saying her first word, picking her up when she'd fall over and scrape her knee, and cuddling her whilst she fell asleep after a bad dream.

Shes met a person that shes convinced that she wants to spend her life with. You might or might not like them ... its her choice really, but still you want her to always be happy and so you're involved in the Wedding.

Dear Terry,

Thank you for your email. As posted on NewlyWeds-Uk.com on 28th December 2007.

Getting married is a costly business. You have been very sensible in determining your budget before planning the big day.

The cost of any Wedding really depends on the numbers you want to invite.

I would suggest that you opt for a small but intimate Wedding. Your Church will charge to get married there but if you just have the basic options you can keep the cost down. Alternatively you might like to opt for a Register Office instead?

Choosing your Wedding day flowers needs to bring together all the other parts of your Wedding Day. You need to decide if you want to have Fresh Wedding Flowers or silk flowers. I would always go for Fresh, this article is to help you choose your Fresh Wedding Flowers.

Firstly, you will have established and chosen your Wedding colours. This is a good starting point. Think about whether these colours will look good against your dress and the bridesmaids dresses.

With the average wedding costing in excess of £15,000, its a tall order for any couple looking to tie the knot. But your wedding doesn't have to cost this much, there are ways to achieve the wedding you want at a price that it suits your wedding budget. After all, the idea of starting a marriage up to your neck in debt because you wanted thrones and to arrive by helicopter isn't going to do your relationship any good.

If you're not too busy working out your wedding seating plan you might just be spending some time glued to the TV watching CSI Crime Scene Investigation. You'll be in good company - the whole of my family, including the 4 dogs, pile onto the couch for this superb and highly addictive viewing. In the same way that church bells are designed to alert people and call them to worship - The CSI theme tune is the magnet that draws us in and (as we never draw up a seating plan) the last ones in get the hard pew (the floor) where there is a lot more canine competition for the popcorn.

Planning a Wedding doesn’t have to cost you millions. There is a huge amount of ‘extra stuff’ that links into Weddings - its not always essential! The skill you need is being able to recognise what is essential to making the day exactly what you want it to be.

Of course, many little girls have dreamt of getting married in a castle and flying by helicopter to the reception on a yacht at sea, it does of course never rain and your hair, makeup and dress remain perfect all day!
