When it comes to your Wedding day, whether you are opting for a traditional or non-traditional day - you are probably being bombarded with advice from friends and family over when you cut the cake, when the Mother of Bride can remove her hat and if the Groom is allowed to remove his jacket before you sit down to the Wedding Breakfast.

So how do you know what the right Etiquette is?

In order to keep it all simple and enable it to be followed you might want to consider referring to a highly recommended book:

The order in which you present the speeches is Father of the Bride, Groom then the Best Man. Sometimes, other people like to speak too, keep it to a minimum, you don't need 3 hours of speeches - and if the Bride want to make a speech, let her .... she is the Bride! She should speak either before or after the Groom depending on what her preference is.

So you have it all planned ... all paid for and you are counting down the days until the Wedding Day itself.

You've bought everyone that has helped a gift .... but should the Bride and Groom buy each other Wedding Presents? Some Brides expect to receive a little gift on the morning of the Wedding but what do you buy?

Speaking at a wedding is something that many of us have to do at some point... and in short, it can be terrifying! It doesn’t have to be though. Put in a little time and a little preparation, and it can actually be a very rewarding experience.

How exciting! This is my first post for NewlyWeds-UK and you can expect to find me here every Monday from now on...

So, what am I going to be talking about?

Well, you probably have an inkling already from the title of this post: Ethical Weddings... or green weddings, organic weddings, fair trade weddings... these are some of the terms you may have heard in the press over the last year or two.

Groom, Best Man, Fathers, and Ushers' suits

When thinking about the overall look of your wedding day, after the Bride's wedding dress, one of the next important outfits to organise is that of the Groom's party - the Groom's suit, the Father of the Groom's suit, the Father of the Bride's suit, and the Usher's suits.

Wedding etiquette dictates that all men should keep their suit jackets on, until the Groom removes his jacket. It is helpful to any guests who may have their backs to the top table, for the Master of Ceremonies, or the Best Man to announce "Gentlemen, the Groom has removed his jacket".
