With the current economic climate, couples are finding it harder and harder to be able to afford the Wedding they had dreamed of. With many venues feeling the decline in available budget that couples who are planning their weddings want to spend.

If this sounds like a situation you are experiencing, help is at hand.

Organising a wedding involves a lot of time and money and there are many decisions to be made along the way. Everyone wants to create a special day for themselves, the rest of the Wedding Party and the guests.

Weddings are a tradition unlike any other. In every culture in every nation there are distinct customs and practices that accompany the sacred joining of two people in matrimony. As an occasion celebrated worldwide, weddings rely heavily on ceremony and ritual, with every event from the proposal to the honeymoon observing long-held formalities. With such emphasis on pomp and pageantry, sometimes it is easy to lose sight of the most important reason for a couple's nuptials: love.

Choosing the colours for your Wedding can be a very important decision. Particularly as you base most of the decisions for the big day on them, everything from the colour of the bridesmaids dresses to the Wedding flowers, its very important to get it right the first time!

Firstly consider the colours you like. If you love Orange put it on the list, equally though, if you hate Orange cross it off. Come up with your top 5 or 6 colours so you have some options to consider.

Following on from last week's post about the bridal bouquet, I'd say one of the fun bits about arranging your wedding is the task of making your chosen venue look pretty.

Let your imagination run riot when it comes to centrepieces, place names, table plans and the like; it’s a great opportunity to incorporate some of those eco-friendly and fair trade touches.

Go for vases filled with pebbles and water, or colourful fruit as centrepieces, let shells, pebbles or leaves serve as place names.

It is the big day, everything is planned down to the last detail and everyone is praying that nothing goes wrong. But what if something does happen, what if the groom is a bit worse for wear or a wedding hair style starts to fall out?

Heres where the 'wedding survival kit' comes in, to help ensure any incidents or problems can be resolved quickly.

EnglishRose events is here to share the contents of that survival kit, so you can fully prepare for any eventuality:

Phew! It's been a busy couple of weeks - hence the lack of post last week - and it's all, in one way or another, been wedding related!

Last Monday's important engagement was actually not a chore at all - we were celebrating our second wedding anniversary at the excellent Due South restaurant on Brighton seafront. We also celebrated our first wedding anniversary there (oops, getting into a routine already!) but this time round we managed to bag ourselves a window seat looking straight out over the sea...so romantic!

This week (a day late again, I apologise, Easter weekend has thrown me and I thought today was Monday!) I thought it was about time we talked about that cornerstone of any well-planned wedding: the venue.

Once you have the venue fixed, everything else seems to fall into place (well, almost!).

But of course, we're not talking about just any venue, we're looking for an ethical wedding venue...so what might that entail? For a few ideas, read on...
