Deck the halls

Following on from last week's post about the bridal bouquet, I'd say one of the fun bits about arranging your wedding is the task of making your chosen venue look pretty.

Let your imagination run riot when it comes to centrepieces, place names, table plans and the like; it’s a great opportunity to incorporate some of those eco-friendly and fair trade touches.

Go for vases filled with pebbles and water, or colourful fruit as centrepieces, let shells, pebbles or leaves serve as place names.

Flower power

Traditionally, wedding flowers have a large and decorative role to play when it comes to weddings.

The bridal bouquet is certainly a much anticipated part of the white wedding, perhaps more for the throwing of it than for its arrangement! If you do decide to go for fresh wedding flowers, why not think about how you can minimise the environmental impact?

Following last week's post about choosing an engagement ring, we have picked up on a thread in the Ethical Weddings Forum (http://www.ethicalweddings.com/forum) suggesting that Canadian diamonds, often seen as the hassle free way to find conflict free diamonds, are perhaps not as clean as they seem.

The diamond debate

I'm back! After 2 weeks of tackling the traumas of moving (apparently the most stressful thing you can do...apart from getting married of course!) we are now getting settled into our 1930s mid-terrace in wonderful Worthing - soon to be transformed into a 21st century ecohome! Just as soon as we get the boxes emptied...1 step at a time…

And talking of steps, looking back over my posts, I realise I'd missed out one of the crucial steps that marks the start of most couples' journey up the aisle - the engagement ring.
